Foreign media "Radio Free Asia" quoted news that a batch of 200 kilograms of gold owned by the North Korean state was reported to have been robbed on the highway in mid-November when it was being transported to Pyongyang in Sinuiju, the capital of North Pyongan Province.
The report quoted an anonymous resident near Hyesan City as saying that this batch of gold should be manufactured in a factory in North Pyongan Province, and it was mainly sent to Room 39 of the Workers’ Party of Korea, which manages the party’s finances, and the Central Bank of North Korea. Unexpectedly, they were robbed on the Pyongyang-Sinuiju highway on the way; judging from the way the gangsters quickly subdued the soldiers, it is not ruled out that they have received special military training.
According to sources, the authorities have listed all the former members of the special forces in North Pyongan Province as suspects and are investigating one by one to find out what each of them was doing on the day the case happened. Any relevant information or suspects must be reported immediately.
In order to prevent robbers from smuggling into China, the border area of Hyesan City can be seen everywhere in recent days.
